to our community and local businesses for

‘Coming Together’ at the 2018 West Newbury Summer Festival

On August 11th, families, friends and neighbors ‘came together’ at the West Newbury Summer Festival to celebrate the spirit and importance of community!  The Summertime Marching Band led Fred, the horse, as well as goats, children, local libraries, Queen Debbie Page and many other paraders past the Community Hall on Tyler Farm Road. It was a sell-out for the Spare Ribs BBQ , and there were many happy shoppers leaving the Silent Auction and White Elephant Sale this year. Vermont State Game Warden, Mark Schichtle and his K-9 partner, Magooch the black lab did a demonstration of the various techniques and training used by VT Fish & Wildlife and their dogs to search people and poachers. There was a line of delighted children playing with bubble wands while they waited to make beaded jewelry and have their faces painted. Local musicians played at the church exhibit and under the BBQ tent. It was a beautiful day, and a festival that was enjoyed by all who attended. Donations and money raised from fundraising efforts will be going towards a new furnace to heat the Community Hall.

The West Newbury Hall Committee wishes to thank the community and local businesses who contributed funds, time, and energy to this special day.  Be sure to look for acknowledgements of local businesses, and for festival photos by Ian Clark and others on the West Newbury Hall website at westnewburyhall.org or on the Facebook page.
